I love spring in Texas with it's new greens and wildflowers.  This was painted at the back gate of Fossil Rim in April.

Monkey by Jill Randall

Monkey by Jill Randall
7"x5" oil on canvas  (sold)
This is my son's cat, Monkey, who was a rescue cat.  She use to growl and hiss at everyone, but she has mellowed in her mature age. Monkey is a beautiful cat who has plenty of attitude.

Wildflowers on Chalk Mt. Road by Jill Randall

Wildflowers on Chalk Mt. Road by Jill Randall
6"x8" oil
Friday my painting friends, Sheri Jones and Joyce Thomas, and I went in search of wildflowers and bluebonnets.  We did find on Chalk Mt. Road near Glen Rose lovely blue verbenas and yellow flowers.  It was a perfect spring day and such a delight to be painting outside.  It is a day I will remember as my husband and I prepare to drive north through Canada to Alaska with our Casita trailer.  It will be about a two week trip since we like to take our time and enjoy the drive.

Hill with Blues by Jill Randall

Hill with Blues by Jill Randall
5”x7”  Pastel (sold)
This scene is from last year’s beautiful display of bluebonnets in a field bordering Country Road 1004 near Glen Rose, Texas.  After several good rains the last week of March, I am hoping the bluebonnets will be as lovely this April.  Spring in Texas is such an explosion of new greens and beautiful wild flowers of all colors.  I look forward to plein air painting.
